Simon Cowcher began his career in timber frame after several years chartering and racing sailboats all over the world. During his time abroad he was entrusted to oversee a major restoration of a classic yacht for a private client, who sought only the finest quality and craftsmanship, however hard to find. Simon brought together specialists - with skills thought long forgotten- for the project and it was this experience that gave him the love of wood in construction up to this day.
On returning to the UK, he restored and developed his own barn and outbuildings and was asked to complete a neighbouring project, which turned into his start in modular timber-framed buildings.
At the time there was no one nationally who offered a range of timber-framed modular barns and outbuildings, but plenty of Architects prepared to design and draw one-off projects, always unfortunately with significant costs to do so.
Since then, Simon has built many hundreds of projects based on the one simple truth that cost is always critical. Any project must also deliver on the clients’ expectations, but also add significant value over and above the cost of the project overall.
